The makers of Game of Thrones have officially confirmed the R+L=J theory!

***Warning this article contains spoilers! ***

The Game of Thrones season 6 finale,”Winds of Winter”, was one of the best the series has produced. From Cersei Lannister obliterating an entire faith, to Daenerys Targaryen commanding a fleet of a thousand ships to Westeros; the episode was packed full of gripping suspense and mystery. There was, however, one scene which triumphed all. Ned raced up to the top of the Tower of Joy and finally encountered, the one we had all theorised, Lyanna Stark. For many years, Game of Thrones fans have believed that Jon Snow was not Ned’s, but Lyanna’s, son. This episode finally answered the long awaited question fans had hoped for. Jon Snow is in fact the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. Though the scene does not fully confirm whether he is the true son of a Targaryen, the makers of Game of Thrones put together an infographic showing the lineage.

As you can see in the image, Jon Snow is the son of a Targaryen and dragon blood flows through his veins. Theories now predict that Tyrion Lannister is in fact not a Lannister, but a Targaryen too.

In the meantime, while we wait another 10 months to answering the dying questions we have, rewatch the epic Tower of Joy scene below:#
